MORE ORIGINALS

Mark is now ready to introduce his latest original creations. Mark has spent the past several months refining the process of creating these individually unique bronzes which can provide even the most humble of Mark Hopkins collectors the chance to own a one-of-a-kind sculpture never again to be re-created. New pieces can be viewed by visiting the Mark Hopkins web page. And remember, if you don't see your ideal original, Mark is continuing to create beautiful new pieces which can be tailored to your specific tastes.

Private Commission Released to the Public

In recent months, both Mark and Eli have created new sculptures sure to become enduring classics. Of these, two magnificent eagle sculptures are now available. Eli has created a smaller version of his Above the Clouds (standing 12 inches tall) and Mark has completed a smaller rendition of his highly sought after Vigilance (standing 18 inches tall). Originally part of a corporate awards commission for Xerox, these stunning works are now available to our collectors. With several of each piece selling in the first week of introduction, both of these works are being met with enthusiastic appreciation for their size and price. New Arrival!

A fun little note: Mark’s newest grandson was born this month to his youngest daughter Summer, who was the child featured in the popular sculpture by the same name. There are now eight grandsons and seven granddaughters in Mark’s growing clan.

Artist's Corner

“It’s really not difficult to measure those things that we need in order to exist in life against those things that we merely want. Much of what we think we want is fleeting – it will very soon be gone and forgotten. On the other hand, there are those things that have deeper meaning and a more lasting influence – things that lift and inspire us.

“We know the basics of what we need to stay alive and functioning – food, clothing, shelter, etc. We might need to contemplate a little more to come up with a list of all the things on the other side of the coin – possessions that are pretty much just “stuff.” With a little more consideration, we can compile a list of things that might fall between the two - things which rise above the mundane – that lift our spirits, inspire our hearts, and deepen our human experience. Our faith, our families, our country, our sense of truth and beauty: these are of lasting and immeasurable value.

“For me, sculpting and the process of creation are vital expressions that are also enduring and beyond price. In fine art, inspiring music, and great literature, among other sources of happiness, we discover joy that isn’t merely bigger than life – it’s as big as life should be. It is the divine in us that pushes us to forever seek the best that life has to off er and then strive to make it even better.”

In fact some of the sculptures available for purchase in the regular Mark Hopkins line began as commissioned works. If you are interested in engaging Mark to sculpt a particular piece for you, please inquire with our office. Pricing is based on details such as the size and complexity of the design you want.
